iCaught

I watched iCaught last night and I found it really interesting. It showed many different scenarios in which technology changed lives. A girl who moved to Hollywood and wanted to make it big couldn't find any work. She started posting random videos of her acting on YouTube. Once she had posted several videos to YouTube, her videos started to become very popular. Eventually, an acting company found her videos and took her on as a client. This women starred on MadTV and was on other programs as well. Another subject iCaught addressed was the soldiers in Iraq with video cameras. It said if you went to YouTube and typed in "Bored in Iraq" you could find tons of videos where the soldiers are acting like little boys. They were using their metal detectors like light sabors in one video. However, in another video it showed the soldiers dancing and then all of a sudden the camera falls and you hear a loud crash (they were bombed). You can truly see that there is war going on in the world whether we want to believe it or not. Another video it showed was a soldier in Iraq having a video conference with his wife while she was in labor. He was able to witness this event, an event which he would have missed were it not for technology. I did not know that technology, espcially YouTube, could be so beneficial to so many people in the world. This program really opened my eyes to how technology is working in our world today.
